THE BAKER'S STORY

A woman of courage, strength, love and kindness is who you encounter when you meet Ms. Patricia Latimore.

Patricia, lovingly known as “Pat”, is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and is proud of her roots. She was raised by a strong black woman who taught her that life is not easy and takes hard work to be successful. Pat is a graceful and mature woman of God who is dependable and loves to serve. She enjoys shopping and curling up with an inspirational book in her spare time. Her hobbies include gardening and painting on canvas.

Ms. Latimore’s professional experience includes a vast range of expertise as it took a “jack of all trades” to be the personal assistant to Mrs. Coretta Scott King for over 20 years. Throughout her task, Pat’s skills included Conflict Resolution, Time Management, Organizational Planning, and Administrative Excellence while being a liaison between Mrs. King and The King Center which Mrs. King founded. Prior to her working with Mrs. King, Patricia excelled in customer service for Pfizer Corporation for over 18 years assisting customers with purchases and handling unresolved issues. Ms. Latimore left a loving impression on everyone whom she came in contact with. She uses the life experiences she has to help direct young adults to a better way of life. Although Pat’s formal education from Booker T. Washington High School along with multiple certifications and Business Management Training are sufficient, it is through her life’s work of service that she has learned the most. Ms. Latimore’s professional affiliations include her currently serving as Treasurer of The National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women, Inc. (NANBPW). However, throughout her membership within NANBPW, Pat has also served as President and 1st & 2nd Vice President of the Greater Atlanta Chapter. Other memberships include the National Association of Professional Women, being a certified consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics and Life Memberships in Creative Home Arts Club, The National Home Garden Club and Les Enchants Social and Civics Club. Pat has also embarked on a new business venture this year. Affectionately known for making the “Best Potato Pies in the South”, she is the sole owner and operator of PiesByPat.com. She uses specialized baking skills and a touch of love with every pie. She has become quite the entrepreneur.

Patricia’s personal passions include serving with a willing heart and leaving a legacy that will be a reflection of the goodness of the Lord. Many of Pat’s closest friends deem her as a virtuous woman. Pat responds knowing we are blessed to be a blessing to others. Three words that describe Patricia are Patient, Understanding, and Leadership. Her church activities include her Presidency of the Women’s Ministry for almost 20 years and current chairperson of the Church Anniversary and Men and Women’s Day Committee. Also, Pat volunteers for the Fund for the Southern Community and is currently managing Phase II of the CSK Loving Touch Project.

Family is a large part of Pat’s life. She was married to the late Rufus Latimore for 21 years before his untimely death. During the last 15 years of her being a widow, she has continued to enjoy the company of 2 daughters, Angela Avery and Carla Thurmond, 1 son, Antwain Latimore,  grandsons, Vincent Avery, Jr., Tony Thurmond, and a God-daughter, Tameka Cooksey Horton.

A quote she lives by is, “Fake it til you make it” and her favorite scripture is
Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
